BRIERHILL NATIONAL SCHOOL EXTENSION
with Paul Dillon Architects / 2015 - 2018

Highly Commended / RIAI Awards 2021 (The Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland)

Speacial Mention  / AAI Award 2021 (Architectural Association of Ireland )

Working with a limited budget, this complex of school buildings, which had undergone several previous extensions, was to be further expanded with new spaces

for pupils with special needs.

Our design called for the relocation of the school’s main entrance to a newly constructed extension in the rear of the property nearer the main pedestrian and vehicle access point. This gave rise to a new play patio and variable study room and in turn freed up

the layout of the historical school building, which could now house the required

special-education classroom.
